"It's better for portaging than for hiking. There are a few multi-day loops. I feel like the trails themselves are kind of boring because you're just in the thick forest without too much to look at until you get to a lake and you finally get to see sky and water. The campsites are nice since they're pretty much always at a lake, so you have access to water, and a place to swim if you're in the right season."

"It's friggin awesome... as was said, better for canoe/portage than hiking... and bring your bug dope :) Algonquin is rugged, remote, and can be tough."

"My girlfriend and I spent a few days hiking there in June and September. The hiking is incredible. Tons of great lookouts and not very hard. The backcountry trails are well maintained and the campsites on them are great. We saw a bunch of moose, a bear, and found some fresh wolf scat. There are tons of abandoned trails to explore that provide a much more "backcountry" experience."
