"We were really glad that we drove up in the car to suss the park out, rather than actually camp there as planned. Driving 1.5 hours off the highway, only to end up there... I would have been really disappointed. Overall, just a really old, poorly maintained park. We didnβt see a single park employee during our visit, which was just weird. The bugs were next-level. I bet itβs a great park if youβre really into fishing, especially with the crowd we saw in that one area. Given that we donβt have a boat - and havenβt gotten into fishing yet - itβs just not a park that weβd want to drive an hour and a half out of the way for."
"Nestled in the heart of nature, Pakwash Provincial Park offers a tranquil escape with sandy beaches and warm, shallow waters. Ideal for swimming, fishing, and canoeing, this secluded park is also a gateway to northern canoe routes. With fantastic walleye fishing and a small, quiet campground, Pakwash is perfect for those looking to unwind amid the wilderness."
"What a great place to get away from the hustle of life. I don't think that there are very many parks (if any) that are like Pakwash. It is run by volunteers (mostly Katie and her family) who keep the park clean and organized. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the volunteers and other campers was next level. Every one was very welcoming and helpful. The beach was nice and clean (just a little small). The playground was enjoyed by all of our kids. The fishing! The fishing was great! All of the locals said if you want good fishing that we should go to red lake... But we caught SO many fish in this lake! Pike, Walleye, Bass, even a white fish! We caught some small pike right off the shore! It was a lot of fun. We also saw loads of bald eagles, pelicans, and other assorted wildlife. If you get a chance, I highly recommend coming up here for a fun time to just sit back and relax!"
