Rideau River Provincial Park is located on the historic Rideau Waterway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It offers family camping on level, shaded campsites with amenities nearby. The park serves as a great base for exploring Ottawa, which is only 40 minutes away, or the small towns along the Rideau. Visitors can explore the waters by canoe or motorboat, and fish for muskie or bass.

"This is the first review Iβve ever written, Iβve camped at Rideau River provincial campground for many years from when my children were very young to now when theyβre all grown and on their own, recently I went camping with my fiancΓ© at Rideau River on Aug 3/18 for the long weekend, this camping trip to Rideau River was the worst Iβve ever had, the bathrooms and showers were disgustingly filthy at anytime, going to use the bathroom at 4am and you find no toilet paper in any stall is not fun, I remember a few years ago when the campground cleaning crew would already be at the washrooms at 8am on the weekend and almost done and very clean with all of the toilet paper restocked, now I realize things happen and people get busy with other duties, but when itβs same thing each day youβre there compared to not some many years ago when it was clean all of the time. We will return to Rideau River again next summer, but I do hope they get things together for the sake of the people that love Rideau River campground, Alex."
"Within 40 minutes of Ottawa, on the slow moving Rideau River. A couple of small beaches, canoe rentals and a boat launch near a playground for children makes it a good stopover point for families visiting Ottawa. Clean and relatively quiet(some road noise during the day), with electric, non-electric and tent sites. More expensive than US parks but location makes it acceptable if visiting Ottawa. Nearby town of Kemptville has a reasonably large Walmart for supplies."
"Large, private sites. We stayed during a couple of weekdays, I am sure that the traffic noise is a lot less on the weekend. The best campsites in our opinion are the ones closest to the water."
