"This park offers a mixed experience. The birding during spring migration was exceptional, and the unique Dunes Trail was a highlight. However, the main beaches were only 'OK,' and the park's popularity led to concerns about crowds and accessibility, especially during summer. While the natural aspects were appreciated, the overall logistical experience was less than ideal."
"Sandbanks Provincial Park is my favorite car camping spot in Ontario due to its expansive beaches resembling the Caribbean. It's ideal for sunbathing, paddle boarding, and sunset walks. Great for families with shallow water and dunes for climbing. It can get very busy in summer, so September is recommended for swimming and wine tours in Prince Edward County."
